When decorated Vietnam Veteran, Ret. Colonel John R. Bates, USMC put his trust in Dr. Faulkner to perform his cataract procedure in 2013, he was taking a leap of faith in what was then the first major advancement in cataract surgery in 25 years. After the procedure, Col. Bates said, “I can actually see better now than I’ve ever been able to see in my entire life.” This year, on July 3, the trust came full circle, and it was Dr. Faulkner taking the leap of faith… literally! In honor of Col. Bates and all our service men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, Dr. Faulkner jumped from a plane on Independence Day weekend at 10,000 feet above sea level to give the 3-time Purple Heart Recipient a true “high” five.
